I sometimes find it difficult to permit others to see what I see, how I see it, and why I see it the way I do, but that is my goal.
I am a native of the desert and I have witnessed the ferocity of changes here from season to season. The color and texture of the desert with these changes is reflected in my work.
My goal as an artist is to allow others to think about what they see in my work. At times, I hope people laugh, smile, and contemplate what they see.
And at other times, I want to shock and offend, very much in the same manner we all experience life.
I use pure undiluted colors because the best visually represent the emotions that we feel, as we journey through time. I would like to think I am painting life itself.
